4 Dangerous Parenting Styles

Feb 04, 2015 / General

Parents have the most important job in the world: raising their children well. But to do so, parents need to know how not to raise their kids. So here are some dangerous parenting styles to avoid. First, avoid being a “Buddy Buddy” parent. These parents are more concerned about being their child’s friend than their child’s protector, provider, and leader.  Second, avoid being a “too busy to care” parent. These parents put all their effort into their careers, leaving no time or energy to be involved in their kids’ lives. Finally, avoid being a “living through my child” parent. These parents put immense amounts of pressure on their kids to be perfect and try to completely control their lives. If you have one of these parenting styles, here's how to make a change.
