For the last four Mondays I’ve talked about lies that can hurt your child.  The 5^th lie parents tell their children is, “Every child should go to college.”  It’s true that every child has unique talents and abilities that should be discovered, praised, and nurtured.  But that doesn’t mean college is the right choice for everyone.  If your child has a passion and flair for something like cosmetology, or car repair, then a technical school may be the best option.  Whatever their skill-set, the best thing a parent can do is to be supportive, and to encourage their children to do their best at whatever they do.  Here’s more on how to know if college is a good idea for your teen.
