7 Great Date Night Ideas

Trade in “work mode” for “marriage mode.”  Go on a date with your spouse and rekindle what brought you together in the first place!

Here are seven date night ideas to try:

  1. Turn your night into a mini-vacation by matching your dinner menu to a movie location or another other fun destination.  If you are going to see the movie, Roman Holiday, then enjoy some Italian fare.  If you are going to the museum to see the latest Monet exhibit, try a little French cuisine.
  2. Relive your first date.  Follow the same itinerary.  If you still live in the same town, go to the original locations or at least where they used to be.  Talk about how you felt the first time you were there, the dreams you had for the future, what first attracted you to that person and what still attracts you now.  A stroll down memory lane will take you back to why you first fell in love and help you do it all over again.
  3. Have a gourmet picnic.  Go to a gourmet grocery store.  Choose new and exciting foods or favorites that are a special treat!  Make it adventurous.  Now, find a romantic location such as a park or waterfront.  Bon appétit!
  4. Get glammed up!  Even if you are just going to a local restaurant, put on your best evening dress.  The way you look will affect the way you feel!
  5. Plan on having breakfast together.  Make a breakfast date with your spouse once a week.  Meet at a local diner or bistro for some uninterrupted conversation and a nice start to the day.
  6. Make a phone date to talk for 15 minutes.  Talk on the phone like you did when you were dating.  Take the opportunity to really listen and respond.  Get to know each other all over again.
  7. Take a really cool class.  Trying something new for just the two of you.  Something that you have always wanted to do, such as a sport or a hobby.  Enjoy learning together!
